2019 J.P. Morgan Case Competition - Preliminary Round

Want the chance to ramp up your extra-curriculars and connect with one of the world’s leading investment banks?

The Network of Women is proud to present the inaugural J.P. Morgan (JPM) Case Competition for students at The University of Sydney, designed to encourage high female participation. The competition will involve analysing and formulating solutions to an issue outlined in the case brief.

Think this is only for business students? Think again!

The case brief will be structured to enable students from ALL DISCIPLINES to participate effectively. JPM is a strong believer that teams with diverse viewpoints foster innovation, creativity and productivity.

PRIZES
1st Place: Invitation to final-round interviews for JPM’s 2019/2020 Sydney Summer Internship Program (penultimate year students only) and the opportunity to attend an exclusive networking lunch with JPM executives.

2nd Place: Invitation to first-round interviews for JPM’s 2019/2020 Sydney Summer Internship Program (penultimate year students only) and the opportunity to attend an exclusive networking lunch with JPM executives.

3rd Place: Invitation to attend an exclusive networking lunch with JPM executives.

TEAMS
Teams will be comprised of 2-4 people and all teams will need to be at least 50% female. Each team member for this competition is required to be an undergraduate student in their penultimate year of study or earlier with unqualified employment rights in Australia after graduation.

If you would like to participate but can’t find a team, register as an individual, attend the Information Session and we can introduce you to others in the same situation.

COMPETITION DETAILS
Teams that are invited to the Campus Heats (preliminary round) will present to a panel of judges comprising academics and JPM representatives. This will offer a terrific opportunity to participate in a team activity that will develop your problem solving, critical thinking and presentation skills.

Top teams that qualify for the final round will present the same case to a panel of senior JPM executives. They will also gain the chance to network with executives and find out about career opportunities with this prestigious global financial services organisation.

If you’ve never done a case competition before or don’t even have the slightest idea what a case competition is – have no fear!

Come along to both the Information Session and the Case Competition Workshop to have all your questions answered and gain some valuable insights into what judges will be looking for.

Instructions will be emailed to teams as the competition progresses, however, key dates are provided below. Please click ‘going’ on the event to be notified of all future announcements about the competition.
